When Jesus called him, He threw off his identity - He threw off who was known as - Everyone knew who he was and he denied it to go to Jesus
He was saying, “I don’t want to be that anymore!”
He came to Jesus, bare and ready for to be clothed
Isaiah 61:10
I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness
When you come, Jesus clothes you. He doesn’t leave you empty.
Bartimaeus didn’t go back to his cloak or his spot on the side of the road, he followed Jesus
